Brian Metzger works 2025 Big 33 game

Congratulations to Brian Metzger who was selected to work the 2025 Big 33 game.
Mid Penn District 3 Assignor
Our Mid Penn District 3 Assignor is Jerry Hocker. Jerry started his officiating career in 1995 as a Mid Penn District 3 high school official. He was selected to officiate in the Eastern College Football Officials Association in 2002 as a Line Judge and was promoted to the Atlantic 10 (Colonial)/Ivy/Patriot League in 2004. Jerry officiated in the Big Ten Conference from 2006-2013 as a Field Judge and since 2014 he has officiated in the Atlantic Coast Conference as a Side Judge. ​

Jerry has also officiated in the United Football League (UFL) and Arena 1 and 2. He has officiated 4 Conference Championship Games; 2011 (Big Ten), 2015 (ACC), 2017 (ACC) and 2020 (ACC). Jerry has also officiated numerous bowl games, most notably the 2016 Sugar Bowl (Oklahoma State vs, Ole Miss) and the 2018 National Semi Final Orange Bowl (Oklahoma vs. Alabama).

Non-PIAA Assignor
Non-PIAA assignor is Scott Lamprey. Scott began his officiating career as a Mid Penn District 3 high school football official in 1990. Scott has officiated several District 3 playoff games and has been a member of a state playoff officiating crew. Scott was selected as a game official for 50th annual Big 33 game in 2007. Scott was honored by our chapter as the recipient of the 2018 Lewis Clionsky award. Scott has served as the chapters youth assignor for approximately the last 15 years.

Scott has officiated various levels of play from youth football to semi pro to an occasional game in the women’s league.
